Take Action - Lift Up Oakland

Send a message for fairness and equity to Oakland’s City Council.

It is time to change Oakland’s twenty-year-old flat gross receipts tax to a progressive gross receipts tax, so that larger companies that make more money pay more than smaller businesses that don’t make as much. This change would give tax relief to the 24,000 Oakland small businesses with gross receipts of less than $250,000 per year, while bringing in approximately $40 million in additional revenue for city services.

This new progressive system would ensure that every business pays its fair share into the city’s general fund.
